Your Body Might Be Trying to Tell You Something

A lot of us are raised to believe that stress is an ‘alien’ experience that only affects the weak. The truth is, it’s way more common than one can imagine. The whole idea of getting people to ignore this awful experience is that they suffer in silence.
I remember the number of times I felt like I needed to talk to someone, but chose to keep things to myself, because I didn’t want to label myself as ‘different’ or ‘weird’. Most of us are taught to fear new ways and glorify pain when we could be living a better life.

As stress is not normally seen with our eyes, we assume it’s made up or that it doesn’t affect everyone. But here’s the thing, stress doesn’t just stay in your head. It starts to show up on your body in many ways. Below are a few long-term effects (Based on this article by Mayoclinic.org) -
Headaches/Migraines
High Blood Pressure & Heart Diseases
Stroke
Muscle tensions and pain
Weight Gain
Rashes
The above conditions are very serious and hard to recover from. There is surely more awareness about them, but not a lot of importance is given to stress-related conditions. Simple changes in our lifestyles can help us avoid them.
In the last 2 years, I’ve gained a lot of weight and have been suffering from chronic neck and shoulder pain. I’ve also developed issues with my reproductive organs and have had many migraines and sleepless nights.
Things have been getting better since I’ve finally decided to choose myself, and I want to help more people gain back control of their lives. Please slow down and take time to look after yourselves. No job or relationship is worth your health.
Let’s take a deep breath, listen to our favourite song, watch that show we’ve been putting off or read a book that seems nice, get in touch with that friend whom we have great memories with, start that new hobby we always wanted to, and live life a little more human each day!
Always here if you need someone,
This is also Home 🤍
